**Welcome to the third annual Bridgewater x Metaculus Forecasting Contest**

This global prediction competition is designed to assess forecasting skill through 50 real-world questions on geopolitics, macroeconomics, pop culture, and the tech economy. Whether you're a seasoned forecaster or a complete novice, we hope you join. You might be a fantastic forecaster and not yet know it. The only way to find out is to compete.

Forecasting runs from January 12 through March 13, with winners announced March 16. The total prize pool is **$30,000** (a $5,000 increase over last year), and high performers may be contacted by Bridgewater about recruiting opportunities. Previous participants have been recruited to Bridgewater's internship program, and several have gone on to receive full-time roles.

Bridgewater encourages you to share your reasoning and analysis in comments, providing an opportunity to demonstrate how you think about complex questions. Engaging thoughtfully with other forecasters and debating disagreements constructively is valued.

### Why Bridgewater Started This Contest

Great forecasters don't all come from the same schools or networks. Bridgewater launched this contest to surface talent that traditional recruiting misses, reaching top performers from a wider variety of backgrounds.

The results have validated this approach. Contests have drawn from more than 100 countries and over 140 schools, many of which Bridgewater had not historically recruited from.
